38 Weeks and Change

31 May 2011

Well, TOMORROW, I'm 39 weeks, but this photo is from Saturday. I apologize for the general lack of pregophotos. My camera broke a few months ago and the iPhone is not such an alluring substitute while we research our next legit camera purchase. Any recommendations?

Work at the Rhodes abode is coming along. As soon as we got our couch and set up our living room, I lost all steam for the little unfinished projects. Jacob (who is still hard at work) predicted this.

Nothing resembling labor as of yet. Every day Jacob tells the baby to stay put for just a little while longer. And every day we are a little closer to ready. Maybe we'll be all ready by our due date, which is, ladies and gents, ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!

  1. Ready doesn't happen until you're holding the baby (in my experience, anyway!). Sending prayers for comfort during the final s-t-r-e-t-c-h of pregnancy - you're more ready than you'd ever imagine!

  4. I second Renee's comment, and add that if you have diapers, blankets and a place to put the kid to sleep, you're as ready as you really need to be. Also, there's nothing wrong with not making it to your due date. It's just an arbitrary number made up by some German obstetrician in the 1800s anyway.

  5. By the way, I really can't believe that you moved at 9 months pregnant. I would have bitten the head off any husband of mine who suggested such a thing.

  6. Well...it was either move at 9 months pregnant or move with an infant. One of those lesser of two evils. Now that we've done it I'm very happy to be (almost) on the other side of moving. Say hello to Heidi, the cutey little face-eater.
